Battlefield: Hardline details leak all over the place

Update: Game reveal date, announcement and teaser site.

Somebody call a plumber because bits and pieces of Battlefield: Hardline are leaking across the internet. The upcoming Battlefield title is looking a whole lot like the oft-rumoured Visceral Games developed “SWAT vs Thieves” take on the game.

The original source of the leaks appears to be this site, who went digging around in Battlelog update code. Multiple details were unearthed, including the names for various multiplayer modes (TDM, Turf War (Small and Large), Heist and Blood Mooney) and the name “BFH.” Someone else chimes in that notable Battlefield YouTubers (the ones who get paid by publisher EA to present the game in a 100% positive light prior to release, you may recall) have been adding the tag Battlefield: Hardline to their channels of late.

That could be filed under pure speculation, were it not for the fact that the twitter account BFDaily has been posting rather convincing looking assets throughout the day. Items such as this:

Which, in conjunction with the rest of the information, seems quite convincing really.

The “classes” dug up so far are Enforcer, Mastermind, Techincian and Professional. You can see from the BFDaily postings that vehicles, perks and all the rest of the stuff you’d expect from Battlefield will be in there too, albeit with a SWAT twist.

It’s highly likely that Battlefield: Hardline will be one of EA’s previously-unannounced games to be revealed at E3. Given past history, a release date of September-October seems pretty nailed on as well. Maybe this one will be slightly less rushed than Battlefield 4, eh? It’s a different developer, so fingers crossed.
