Battlefield 2042 Performance Issues

Battlefield 2042 gets first update addressing performance issues

Fixing the game.

The highly anticipated Battlefield 2042 has had somewhat of a rocky launch, with the Standard Edition set to release tomorrow on November 19. Luckily, the Early Access period did allow DICE to locate some critical issues ahead of the worldwide launch. It’s a hopeful sign that the Standard Edition’s release won’t be so rocky, as the update targets server stability and reduces instances of rubber banding.

This will not be the only update addressing performance concerns. Battlefield Community Manager Adam Freeman wrote more updates would come the following weeks, with balance updates, quality of life enhancements, and further performance fixes.

“In the coming weeks, we’ll have more to share around further upcoming fixes, balance changes, and QoL enhancements,” Freeman wrote. “Over the next 30 days, we’re presently scheduled to release two further updates, with our next update delivering more fixes and improvements that we’ve identified during this first week of Early Access, and a larger and more substantial update following after that.”
