Battle Vs Chess Screens

This article is over 14 years old and may contain outdated information

Who remembers Battle Chess? The late 80s title recreated chess on (amongst others) the Amiga and PC but added various attack animations that would trigger whenever one piece ‘took’ another.
Southpeak’s Battle Vs Chess looks like it will be revisiting this concept, as armies of Light and Dark face off across the traditional board and attacks will result in “a brutal clash that sees the foe removed from the board in bloody combat.” Also promised is an optional Action Mode, where instead of pre-scripted animations, players will enter into a beat-em-up style mini-game in order to change the course of the battle.
Battle Vs Chess is coming to pretty much every platform you can think of (PS3, PC, Xbox 360, Wii, Mac, PSP and DS) this autumn. Plan your tactics on the screens, below.
