Batman: Arkham Origins prioritises more DLC over PC patch

Nah, just leave it. People won’t mind.

It’s not terribly surprising (though always disappointing) to find a developer under suspicion of cranking out more DLC rather than fixing the existing problems with a game, but it’s rare for a community manager to come right out and admit it. That’s the situation with Batman: Arkham Origins, which still needs patching on the PC.

As spotted by NeoGaf, the unusually candid response to a query about a possible Patch 1.06 was that the development team is too busy making DLC to bother with such things.

The team is currently working hard on the upcoming story DLC and there currently are no plans for releasing another patch to address the issues that have been reported on the forums.

If we do move forward with creating a new patch, it will try to address the progression blocking bugs for players, not the minor glitches that do not prevent one from continuing to play. The issues that are not progression blockers will unfortunately no longer be addressed.

That’s an “if” for a patch, there. Not a when.

This is slightly contradicted by a further post from the same community manager, which reads as follows:

As was mentioned on another thread on this PC board: The teams will be looking into addressing the issue of Deathstroke’s Quick Fire Neural Pellets and Quick Fire Proximity Bomb not working with PC mouse/keyboard.

The timing of this fix is still not determined, but I will be sure to post any updates in the Latest Updates/ Updates on Support sticky on this board.

So those problems, at least, should be fixed. Although it does only confirm that the team will be “looking into” it.

Batman: Arkham Origins had quite a few bugs when Tim reviewed it back in October, and it seems several of those could be here to stay. It’s not like Batman to leave things half finished, so I doubt he’d be impressed by this. If, you know, he was real.
