Barry Burton’s back in Resident Evil Revelations 2

This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information

Professional lockpick-carrier and Jill sandwich-maker Barry Burton will be returning in Resident Evil Revelations 2, judging by these screens.

It might also look like he’s dragging a small child with him, but that’s not quite the case. Barry’s gone to a remote prison island searching for Claire Redfield and his missing daughter Moira, and it’s on this journey that he meets the young girl, named Natalia Korda. She’s got the rather handy ability to sense enemies and hidden items, and apparently you’ll have to swap between the two of them to survive, or play in offline co-op.

The below screenshots also show off a little more of Raid mode, the returning combat-focused bonus mode. This’ll offer online co-op, 15 characters, 200 stages (including levels from previous Resi games), more characters skills, more weapons, and more everything.

Resident Evil Revelations 2 is an episodic title. The first episode is due out on 24 February, with episodes released weekly. Each episode will include Raid mode content, a Claire/Moira scenario, and a Barry/Natalia scenario, and will be priced at $5.99 per episode or $24.99 for the complete season.

I’m rather looking forward to seeing how well this turns out, if only because Resident Evil Revelations 2 is opting for a rather unusual episodic model. Let’s see how it goes, eh?
