You didn’t think that you could kill an enemy by not doing an Action, right? Well, this Baldur’s Gate 3 player killed Minthara at full HP just by canceling an Action.
Minthara died after a BG3 player canceled their action in Honor Mode
As described in this Reddit post on the Baldur’s Gate 3 subreddit, one player managed to kill Minthara at full HP just by canceling an Action. How did this happen? Well, all it took was standing too close to a chasm.
The user “HulloWhatNeverMind” explained how they got to the goblin camp during Honor Mode and saved someone from getting pushed into the spider pit. Since the Scrying Eye caught them, they had to fight three goblins and Minthara. This player typically enjoyed having Karlach throw enemies (using a Potion of Hill Giant Strength), and they thought it’d be fun to kill the final goblin by throwing Minthara at him.
Karlach picked up Minthara, but then the player changed their mind halfway through. After right-clicking to place Minthara down, they realized that Karlach was at the edge of a chasm. This led to Minthara being dropped straight into the chasm, without ever using Karlach’s Action or Bonus Action.
This means that players can technically kill enemies with full HP just by dropping them into a chasm, leaving them to still have their Action and Bonus Action. Imagine having Karlach pick up and drop a group of enemies into a chasm in a single turn, that could help you win Honor Mode.
The replies are finding this post hilarious, just imagining how this feels just like true tabletop D&D shenanigans. Other players added on with their own chasm-tossing stories, one of them explaining how they simply pushed Minthara off the wooden bridge. This would mean you’d have to succeed in a Strength check, but it’s impressive to see how you can cheese fights.
Speaking of finding ways to cheese BG3 fights, this one player managed to deal 1622 damage as Dame Aylin in Honor Mode.
