Baldur’s Gate 3: Where to find the Splint Mould

The good news is that we aren’t going very far to find the Splint Mould at all. For starters, you’ll want to have actually beaten the boss of the Grymforge first. You need to do this before you’re able to make the armor. Well, you could actually make the armor during the boss fight but that’s not a good idea.

Once Grym has been taken care of, we need to head back to the Underdark – Ancient Forge Waypoint. From there, all you need to do is head northeast. Go up the small staircase here and you’ll plenty of rusted weapons all on the ground. Then we want to turn left and you should already see the Splint Mould from here, which is surprisingly not well hidden for Baldur’s Gate 3. Just head over to it and pick it up. And don’t worry there aren’t any nasty surprises here to stop you. Just bear in mind that it has a weight value of 10, so make sure your inventory isn’t too full.

After you find the Splint, you’re ready to go off and make the armor. It ends up creating Adamantine Splint Armor, which is a very rare heavy armor piece. It makes a good fit for anyone that is proficient in Heavy Armor. But it’s particularly good for characters that have a high amount of HP. The armor comes with Magical Plate, which reduces all incoming damage by 2. To put it plainly, it turns a tank into an even beefier tank. Make sure you find the Splint Mould in Baldur’s Gate 3 soon because you’ll likely use this armor for hours to come.
