Dimension Door is a powerful transportation spell in Baldur’s Gate 3. It lets you transport yourself and one other ally to another space you can see. This is understandably a very strong ability to have as it’s essentially a more powerful version of Misty Step. And just like Misty Step, there are quite a few ways to cast Dimension Door..
Baldur’s Gate 3: How to get Dimension Door
Dimension Door is a level 4 Conjuration spell that can be learned by the spellcasting classes in Baldur’s Gate 3. Bards, Sorcerers, Warlocks, and Wizards can each learn this spell once they reach level 4.
Trickery or Ambition Domain Clerics and Paladins with Oath of Vengeance can learn Dimension Door as well. The pool of classes that can learn this spell is a little lower than Misty Step. But in fairness that’s understandable given this spell’s increased utility.
Of course, there are other ways to get Dimension Door without having to know the spell. Spell Scrolls with Dimension Door can be found throughout the world as well. They are a rare find in chests and containers throughout the game, so don’t expect to have a surplus amount of them. It’s also sold by some merchants but be prepared to spend a lot of money since these scrolls are worth a lot.
Alternatively, you can find the Spaceshunt Boots since this item lets you cast Dimension Door as long as they’re equipped. You can find these boots on a character named Dolor, who you’ll encounter in Act 3 during the Investigate the Murders side quest.
But that’s all the ways you can get Dimension Door in Baldur’s Gate 3. Again it’s a little harder to get than Misty Step, but it is also far more useful in the right situation. You can use it to bring your fighters closer to enemies or pull characters out of danger at the right moment. So all in all, it’s a spell that you should have somewhere in your arsenal.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is now available on PC.
