Aztecs mount unlikely invasion of Crusader Kings 2

In a rather unlikely DLC twist to Crusader Kings 2, Paradox has announced plans for ‘Sunset Invasion’, a rather bizarre alternative history expansion that imagines an Aztec invasion of 13th Century Europe. I mean, sure, why not, right?

There’s some rather delicious satire dripping from the news that the Aztecs will bring “exotic and deadly diseases” with them to the shores of Europe, since that’s pretty much what happened in real life (just the other way around).

The Aztec faction doesn’t sound as if it will be playable, so it looks like you’ll mostly be trying to avoid ending up as a human sacrifice (even though the extent of this practice in mesoamerican cultures is disputed by scholars). Mind you, I’d imagine a full on invasion of Europe by the Aztecs would be disputed by scholars too.

Crusader Kings 2: Sunset Invasion will cost you $5 USD and be available from all reputable digital download services. Hell, maybe some disreputable ones too.
