Unlocking Vinland
You have the option to go to Vinland in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla after you finish the Lunden arc and assassinate some Order of the Ancients members. These are the ones that are part of the rightmost branch of the panel.
Kjotve the Cruel – Killed in Norway as part of the main quest.
Leofgifu – Can be marked on your map once you’ve built the Hidden Ones Bureau in your settlement. She’s found in a military camp close to Utbech in northeast Grantebridgescire.
I actually killed her without knowing she was a target while I was just free-roaming in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s open world.
Hunta, son of Hunta – Can be marked on your map once you’ve built the Hidden Ones Bureau in your settlement. He’s found in Ledescestre’s market in central Ledecestrescire.
Like Leofgifu, he’s another accidental kill. While doing the Ledecestrescire arc (where you visit the city), Eivor ends up in a fight against the city’s guards while she’s with Ivarr the Boneless. Ivarr actually ended up killing Hunta, and I just confirmed the kill.
As for the remaining three — Sister Frideswid, Avgos, and Vicelin — you take them out as part of the Lunden arc. In fact, Vicelin acts as the final boss of that arc. The battle takes place as Lunden is being assailed by Vicelin’s ships.
When you’re done, you’ll get the “In a Strange Land” quest. Speak with Hytham and then Randvi in your settlement. Open the alliance map and check out the bottom. You’ll see Vinland here, so go ahead and pledge to it.
An NPC named Nessa will appear at the settlement’s docks. She can take you to Vinland, but you’re disguised as a thrall. That means you’ll leave behind all your items and resources.
Don’t worry, you’ll get your stuff back whenever you go to another region. It’s as simple as opening the world map, holding the shift key, and then selecting England (or Norway).
In any case, let’s say you want to see Assassin’s Creed Valhalla‘s Vinland arc to its conclusion. Well, let’s head to part two of our guide where we’ll assassinate Gorm Kjotvesson.
