Opening the Hidden Ones Lutetia Bureau and obtaining the Joyeuse
After obtaining all three keys, it’s time to return to the Hidden Ones Lutetia Bureau to the west of Paris’ slums.
Eivor will use the keys to open the large, ornate doorway. You’ll then find yourself in a dark chamber where almost all sections have rat swarms.
The goal here is simple: take an explosive jar from the upper-right corner and move counter-clockwise (using the beams) until you can make it down below. Naturally, you’ll want to slash at the rats to make them scurry away before trying to move past them. If they start biting Eivor, she’ll drop the jar and you’ll have to grab another one.
After you’ve reached the lower floor, go ahead and toss the jar at the wall to destroy it. There’s a sloping path here and a small room that’s filled with snakes.
Kill these serpents and claim your prize, the Joyeuse short sword. This weapon was said to be the sword wielded by none other than Charlemagne himself. It already has mythical quality by default, and its perk automatically coats the weapon with poison after five consecutive heavy hits.
Oh, and one of the cool things you’ll notice is that the explosion caused fires to form the Assassin’s symbol on the floor. That’s a nice touch.
When you exit the Hidden Ones Bureau, you’ll see a note that someone just left. A certain “AC” says that they’ll stay in the darkness so that Eivor can work in the light. Looks like you won’t be able to find this person, whoever it may be.
