Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok guide – Hreidmar’s Curse armor set and Motsognir’s Clarity runes

The Hreidmar’s Curse armor set in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok can be found in Hodda Shelter. Although you can quickly pick up the whole thing, equipping these gear pieces leads to adverse effects:

  • Limited health and nullified evasion.
  • Take damage every few seconds.

Simply put, you’re going to die if you wear these. As such, we need to find the Motsognir’s Clarity runes in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok.

Thankfully, these are easy enough to discover if you’ve been exploring Svartalfheim. They appear as Jotun Blight (i.e., oval icons with runic markings). You can see these in the maps below:

When you do arrive at these areas, you’ll notice that these are akin to the eerie places from the base game. The difference is that there’s a blizzard that slows down movement.

In any case, your goal is to shoot or slash the first red effigy that you see in each area. Once you do that, ping your surroundings to reveal a faint white glow.

These glowing lines will lead to additional effigies that need to be destroyed. In a few cases, you might need the Power of Jotunheim for your Hugr-Rip if you have to teleport.

Note: The effigies need to be destroyed in order. Otherwise, the next objects won’t appear.

Upon destroying the last effigy in each area, you can pick up the Motsognir’s Clarity rune.

Once you have all five, go ahead and socket them in your Hreidmar’s Curse pieces (i.e., open your inventory and click the middle mouse button while the gear is selected).

Each rune will negate the debilitating effects and change the item’s appearance. The Hreidmar’s Curse armor set in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla: Dawn of Ragnarok then have some decent boons:

  • Critical hits heal you, but rations replenish less health.
  • Damage nearby enemies when you heal with rations.
