Assassin’s Creed: Unity’s free Season Pass game coming “next week”

Ubisoft has made some small updates to their FAQ about the process of claiming a free game if you purchased a Season Pass for Assassin’s Creed: Unity. The one that’s probably of most interest to people is the sentence that reads “From next week, you will be able to connect to a dedicated website to log in and select the free game of your choice.”

The FAQ also now explains about how to log into this site (when it becomes available,) which I don’t recall seeing there before:

For all platforms, you can login with your Uplay account details once you have activated your Assassin’s Creed: Unity Season Pass. Alternatively, console users will also be able to log in with their PSN or Xbox live accounts. Please stay tuned for a step by step guide on how to claim your free game.

If you’re not sure what all this is about, Ubisoft decided to give every Assassin’s Creed: Unity owner the forthcoming Dead Kings DLC for free as an apology for the state in which Unity launched. Since this meant Season Pass owners had effectively paid for a freebie, Ubisoft will be giving those people one of the following free games:

  • The Crew
  • Far Cry 4
  • Watch Dogs
  • Assassin’s Creed Black Flag
  • Rayman Legends
  • Just Dance 2015

Well … maybe not Just Dance 2015 for PC users. Anyway, Season Pass holders should be able to pick up one of those for no money from some point next week. Just in time for Christmas, eh?

Also, if you’re an AMD card user, I’d recommend upgrading to the latest Omega drivers. They’re reportedly giving some players rather decent frame-rate boosts in Unity. I’ve tried them myself and saw a minor improvement in performance, which I’m fairly sure wasn’t just a placebo effect.
