Assassin’s Creed Rogue dated for PC, has eye-tracking

Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be hunting its way to launch on PC on 10 March, complete with… eye-tracking technology.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue puts you in the treacherous shoes of Shay Patrick Cormac, an Assassin who betrays the Brotherhood and goes to work with the Templars as an Assassin Hunter, tracking down and killing his former colleagues. It’s set during the Seven Years War, and has Shay exploring various regions of North America and sailing the icy seas of the North Atlantic on his quest to kill a lot of people.

This is the one that was released on Xbox 360 and PS3 last year, but bizarrely, the big twist for the belated PC version is that it supports eye-tracking. If you have a SteelSeries Sentry which supports Tobii eye-tracking, then the game will keep an eye on your eyes. If you look to the right of the screen, the camera will automatically pan to accommodate your view. Which sounds like it could either be amazing or utterly, utterly horrible; I’d have to try it for myself to decide which, but I’m not buying one to find out. It sort of depends on how much that’ll horribly mess with your focus, really.

If you pre-order the game from the Uplay shop, you’ll receive your choice of one of seven Assassin’s Creed games for free. Pre-order a digital edition of the game and you’ll also get two bonus packs: the Siege of Fort de Sable and The Explorer. And, obviously, there’s a Collector’s Edition available, containing an artbook, three lithographs in an envelope, the game soundtrack, an additional single-player mission, and some extra armour and weapons.

10 March for Assassin’s Creed Rogue, if you fancy killing some Assassins instead of being one. Finally, the PC system requirements.
