Assassin’s Creed Origins trailer details the power struggles in Egypt

A new Assassin’s Creed Origins trailer covers the political situation inside Egypt. The young Ptolemy XIII is the Pharaoh, and his sister Cleopatra VII (the famous one), in exile.

Julius Caesar is also on the outskirts, ready to bring the power of Rome to the dispute. Just to complicate things a little more, Ptolemy XIII is largely a puppet ruler, controlled by a force behind the throne (in real life, this was the regent Pothinus). Ptolemy and Cleopatra were also married in real life, but Assassin’s Creed Origins may not get into that whole area.

It looks like our protagonist Bayek will be working for Cleopatra to get her back in power. Ultimately though, this won’t end well particularly well for anybody besides Caesar. Assassin’s Creed Origins comes out on 27 October. The PC version is sometimes delayed, but as far as I know that’s not (yet) the case this year.
