Semi hidden away in the middle of this new ‘Animus’ trailer for Assassin’s Creed 3 (which seems, in part, intended to get people caught up on the concept of stepping into a dead chap’s DNA), are a couple of glimpses of this installments multiplayer mode. You’ll get a quick peek at ‘Domination’ mode, which seems to be a team-based capture and defend type affair, along with a few seconds of ‘Wolfpack’ which is a co-op mode in which you and some pals hunt down AI targets within a designated time limit.
Multiplayer may not be the main focus of Assassin’s Creed 3 but if it builds on the previous Brotherhood and Revelations multiplayer modes, then it could actually be quite special.
The game itself is due for release on 31 October for the Xbox 360 and PS3, and a month later (23 November) for the PC.
