Assassin’s Creed 3 set during American Revolution

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

Update:
Ubisoft will be “formally announcing” Assassin’s Creed 3 next week. More info here.
Original Story:
It would seem that the final piece of the Desmond’s Assassin’s Creed story will play out during the American Revolution.
Nothing has been confirmed by publisher Ubisoft, but one leaked promo image shows an assassin standing in front of an old American colonial flag. Another image, used as a banner that GameInformer accidentally posted on their website (now removed), shows the same assassin inserted into the famous painting of George Washingston crossing the Delaware.
In particular, it’s the GameInformer leak that presents the most convincing evidence as to the setting of Assassin’s Creed 3. Those banners are usually linked to the cover of an upcoming issue of the magazine, so it’s probably safe to bet that more info will be coming soon.
