Armor rating is broken in Helldivers 2, making heavy armor completely redundant

More bugs.

Helldivers 2 is a game plagued by bugs, both intentional and unintentional. The latest problem to be found in the amazing liberation-spreading game is with the Helldivers armor rating being completely broken. In a new video released on YouTube, the problems are highlighted.

No differences in light and heavy armor

YouTube streamer Wulfrayne highlights the issues surrounding the damage ratings of the various types of armor. In his video, he shows the amount of damage it takes to die using both light armor and heavy, and the amount is the same. With both sets of armor on, it takes six attacks to be downed in Helldivers 2.

This bug will eventually be patched, but for now, it makes heavy armor completely redundant in Helldivers 2. It is better to simply play with light armor and make the most of the benefits that come with that. Light armor has much higher speed and much better stamina regeneration.

In time, the patch for armor will be fixed, and the damage values will be changed in Helldivers 2. I have always preferred to use heavy armor at the expense of movement. I have a habit of standing in front of my own armaments and weapons, so it is nice to be able to take a few hits.

Plagued by bugs

Helldivers 2 is no doubt a fantastic game and one I have spent hours playing. However, it has released with more bugs than I care to mention. Matchmaking was the first issue, ranging from no matchmaking at all to constant kickouts. There have been weapon issues, menu glitches, and many more.

However, the small team at Arrowhead Studios clearly cares for their game, and the constant patch rollouts are certainly helping. As the game goes on, there will be constant live service updates, not only to enemies and weapons, but also to quality of life.
