Remember Dishonored 2 on PC? Some of you probably want to forget about it because its performance was appalling on the PC. Arkane president Raphael Colantonio has spoken about Prey‘s performance and is confident it will run just fine.

Speaking to Gamespot, Arkane president Raphael Colantonio has stated they have made all efforts to make it run smoothly on the PC. He added:

“This time we are, given what happened with Dishonored 2, we doubled our thoroughness in making sure that the game is going to run smoothly. At this point, the game is fully ready, but that’s what we’ve been doing for the past months–a lot of tests on different configurations and making sure it works. So we’re pretty confident. You never know. But we’re pretty confident.”

There’s a decent chance that the Prey will work just fine because it’s using a completely different game engine. Prey is using CryEngine while Dishonored 2 used Arkane’s Void engine. It’s great to hear they are being thorough but our advice is to still hang on for tech reviews. Bethesda’s PC performance record can be hit and miss.

We’ll know if Arkane has done their best when the game launches on 5 May and we’ll have a tech review ready for you as soon as we can.
