This year ArenaNet really pushed the boat out for April Fools day with their Guild Wars 2 Super Adventure Box game but there is more to the story of its creation.
When they released the retro-styled trailer based on the Wizards & Warriors II: IronSword NES commercial, they wanted their own 16-Bit game to be playing the background of the ad. No shortcuts would do.
Instead of mocking up a some screen action, ArenaNet’s cinematic artists Delly Sartika decided to create a game called Rytlock’s Critter Rampage. This little side-scrolling platformer has now been put online for gamers who can take Rytlock through a 16-Bit landscape avoiding rabbits, snakes and other nasties.
Head to this page and take Rytlock on his own little browser game adventure.
