Another vague feature about Dragon’s Dogma 2 is whether you should sell your gems or keep them for crafting. After reading this guide, you’ll know exactly what to do with your jewels in Dragon’s Dogma 2.
Are jewels needed for crafting or can they be sold in Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Gems are not used for crafting or enhancing in Dragon’s Dogma 2. No piece of gear — weapon, armor, or otherwise — requires gems to be enhanced. If an item is used to enhance your gear, then it will say so in its description. I recommend depositing those items in your storage until you need them later.
With that out of the way, the only logical option left is that jewels are to be sold to get Gold. This is how you use gems in Dragon’s Dogma 2. They are strictly a way for you to get more Gold fast.
However, you’ll notice that the descriptions of jewels state that they are rare in specific places. This is a hint that they sell for more in those particular places. Here are the jewels I’ve found so far and where you’ll get the most Gold when selling them:
- Jasper – Best sold in Battahl.
- Onyx – Best sold in Vermund.
- Tiger Eye – Best sold in Sacred Arbor.
Battahl includes anywhere south of Checkpoint Town like Bakbattahl, Vermund includes anywhere east of Checkpoint Town including Vernworth and Melve, and “elven lands” means Sacred Arbor because that’s where the elves live.
Now you know how to just gems, or jewels, in Dragon’s Dogma 2. Either keep them on your person or try to remember to get them from your storage when you’re in a location that fetches the best prices for selling a specific jewel. If you stick to this method, you’ll never need to buy the Dragon’s Dogma 2 microtransactions.
