Are Destiny 2 Servers Down?

Is the game down or are you down?

When trying to find out if Destiny 2 servers are down, the first thing you need to identify is if this is a scheduled downtime, an error, or something on your end. In this guide, you’ll learn how to check the Destiny 2 servers.

How long will Destiny 2 Servers be Down?

Usually, when you’re experiencing Destiny 2 server issues, it’s because the Destiny 2 servers are experiencing scheduled maintenance.

Destiny 2 experiences scheduled maintenance once a week and it’s always on Tuesdays, the weekly reset day. The best way to check the dates and times of the Destiny 2 is to go to Bungie Help on Twitter (or X) and check out their latest post that says when Destiny 2 servers will be down.

In my experience, they are good at posting updates there that extend the maintenance time and it’s here that you’ll also keep tabs on the error codes Bungie has identified and is working on.

How to check Destiny 2 Server Status

If you check Bungie Help and don’t see scheduled maintenance, then the Destiny 2 servers may be down unexpectedly. The best way to check is to visit Down Detector.

At Down Detector, you’ll see other players reporting an outage and you can report an error yourself. This is the best way I know how to check server status, and I use it all the time.

How to fix Destiny 2 Server errors

If you aren’t seeing a scheduled maintenance or Down Detector spiking, then you most likely have an error on your end that’s keeping you from getting into Destiny 2.

To fix that, you need to check your internet connection, make sure your router is working properly, restart your device, and check to see if you’ve downloaded any updates. With all of that completed, you should be able to jump back into Destiny 2.
