ArcheAge and its lighter-on-your-wallet version ArcheAge: Unchained have received some fresh new content with the Treacherous Tides Run Deep update. The update is already live in-game and brings with it a new deep-sea raid boss, a powerful boost to the Swiftblade, and a solo dungeon – which the team at gamigo says is the first of its kind.
The new ArcheAge raid boss
The new raid boss is named Charybdis. It’s not the easiest name to pronounce, but it’s one that will soon become ingrained in the minds of ArcheAge players. This devil of the deep was sealed away in Bloodsalt Bay. Keyword: was. It has broken free and is now prowling the seas of Erenor.
Players can team up and sail to Whaleswell Strait at 6:30 p.m. PT on Thursdays and Sundays. This is when the raid boss surfaces. You can then attempt to take down the insatiable sea monster in an epic naval battle. Charybdis has nearly 17 million HP, so the battle is going to be a long one. She uses a large variety of skills to destroy ships and devour sailors.
ArcheAge solo dungeon
The new ArcheAge solo dungeon, Hereafter Rebellion, will send players to battle restless souls and the minions of the Crimson Army. You will take command of your own armies to eliminate the threat or rescue lost souls. In return, you will be rewarded with Hereafter Prestige, which you can use to unlock rewards.
Ancestral power
The ArcheAge Treacherous Tides Run Deep update gives the Swiftblade a substantial boost of power by adding Ancestral Skills to the skillset. Ancestral Skills allow you to augment basic skills from your chosen skillset. You can augment a skill with one of the eight elemental powers from ArcheAge, which changes the way the skill functions. This allows you to further customize your skillset to suit your playstyle and reach new levels of power. It’s certainly a welcome update to the Swiftblade skillset.
ArcheAge and ArcheAge: Unchained are available for purchase for PC via Steam.
