Apex Legends Season 8 Caustic guide

"My gas wafts through the air as if dancing with death."

Final Thoughts

There are fewer and fewer legends that have a hitbox as large as Caustic (Gibraltar). It’s been said that there won’t be others quite like them in the future, especially being that in general, they take 15% less damage from enemy fire. This makes Caustic able to withstand fire while still laying down gas traps or helping revive teammates. This can prove crucial when it comes to the final circle, especially if you’re wanting an additional defensive line with the use of his traps and you’ve been holding on to his ultimate.

There are a few Legends that come to mind when I think about counters for Caustic in Apex Legends. Given Caustic’s size, someone like Rampart could just pump him full of lead with her mini-gun. When her shields are up and spraying bullets – no one is safe. As well, Lifeline can heal the damage Caustic’s Nox Gas has caused, thus negating damage done from traps and/or his ultimate.

Another notable Legend I’ve seen come up in the conversation has been Revenant. His ultimate lets teammates get an extra life of sorts when they enter the shadow realm from his Death Totem ultimate. Once all their health is gone they’ll return back to where the totem was placed. This could mean wasting your ultimate and the opposing team coming back in full force. But, putting a Nox Gas Trap near enemy Death Totems can down them for good. So, proceed with caution.

If you haven’t chiseled out one or two main legends in Apex Legends, the latest season might be the right time to start exploring your options. There are more Legends available than ever, even so with the addition of Mr. Walter “Fuse” Fitzroy. My suggestion is to have at least three that you can rely on. That way, if you’re playing trios with randoms, you can still contribute to your team if they’ve chosen one or both of your regulars from the Legends roster. As well, Caustic still proves to be a balanced character, even as Apex Legends Season 8 keeps chugging right along.

There will be more guides to come for Apex Legends outside of Caustic and Fuse. We already have some Season 8 content you can check out over at our guides and features hub.
