Apex Legends Season 8 Caustic guide

"My gas wafts through the air as if dancing with death."

Ultimate: Nox Gas Grenade

Recommended Videos

There are a variety of character abilities in Apex Legends. Octane can toss a jump pad while Loba can open her Black Market to steal nearby loot. Caustic on the other hand has a toxic Nox Gas Grenade capable of incapacitating enemy teams with a single toss. Each legend in Apex Legends deserves their own guide, especially navigating Caustic.

Unlike the other two mentioned, Caustic’s Nox Gas Grenade can deal damage when enemies are trapped in the cloud of his ultimate. His ultimate ability takes 120 seconds to regenerate. Ultimate Accelerant can come in handy when you don’t have the time to wait for it to charge.

It’s tough to really say when to use Caustic’s ultimate ability. You can hold enemies at a distance if they aren’t willing to push through the dust, use it as a distraction while you flank, or simply give an enemy team everything you’ve got. The gas does anywhere from six to 12 in damage the longer an enemy stays in it. Nox Gas Traps along with a Nox Gas Grenade and multiple thermite grenades can prove highly effective when you’re on the offensive. Additionally, Caustic’s ultimate lingers for 20 seconds. I can’t speak for anyone else, but, when you’ve been hit from all sides in a firefight, a sense of panic starts to set in as you’re trying to escape in any direction. I also tend to hold off on using his ultimate ability as it nears the end of a match and my team is among the final three.
