Apex Legends Season 8 has arrived. With the launch of the new season, there have been numerous changes, buffs, and map modifiers to keep the arena feeling fresh and new without feeling foreign. One of the Legends who has been around since the inaugural season has been the gas canister-wielding scientist, Caustic.
At first glance, Caustic might feel like a slow-moving tank without much mobility. However, once you breakdown his tactical ability and ultimate in a more strategic fashion, Caustic starts to shine as a well-balanced force to be reckoned with. Especially if you’re new to Apex Legends and haven’t really found the one in terms of a main or secondary character.
In this Apex Legends Caustic guide, we’ll break down some of his abilities, usefulness in combat, and general tips for weapons to wield when playing.
Early quarrels with Caustic
Admittedly, I didn’t like playing as Caustic when I first started out in Apex Legends. Caustic was one of the inaugural characters of Apex Legends. There was something about Caustic’s slow movement that was off-putting to me. I found myself leaning into Octane. Not because of skill, but rather as a crutch. However, I started to play as each character more after it became apparent how their Ultimates could be used defensively and aid the rest of my team.
