All Year of the Dragon event rewards in MW3 and Warzone

Earn free rewards by earning XP.

While the Horde Hunt event is the star attraction in Call of Duty right now, a limited-time Year of the Dragon event is also live in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone to celebrate the Lunar New Year. Just like previous events, you can earn rewards just by playing the game.

Unlike the Horde Hunt event which requires you to play certain game modes and collect specific items to progress, the Year of the Dragon event only requires you to earn XP to earn rewards. Any game mode works for this event, so just play whatever you like. After reaching certain XP milestones during the event period, you’ll earn free cosmetic rewards.

10,000 XP obtainedMajestic Warrior Weapon Sticker
23,600 XP obtainedDouble XP Token
42,100 XP obtainedLantern Nights Large Decal
67,250 XP obtainedDouble Weapon XP Token

297,350 XP obtainedDragon’s Glow Calling Card
414,350 XP obtainedDouble Battle Pass XP Token
573,500 XP obtainedDragon Scales Camo

As always, there’s a bonus operator that will grant additional event progress if you play as them. This time, you need to buy the Full Kit: Dragon Soul: Lunar New Year bundle and equip the Emperor skin for Jabber in order to get the bonus. With the skin equipped, you’ll earn 1000 additional XP after every match. It’s a small bonus, but it adds up.

The bundle costs 3,000 COD Points, however, so it may not be worth the investment if you’re only buying it for the bonus event XP. The Year of the Dragon event is only live for a few days after all, so you should only pick up the bundle if you really like the skin, weapons, and cosmetics that it includes.

The ultimate reward this time is the Dragon Scales camo pattern, obtained by attaining a total of 573,500 XP during the event period. This is a universal camo that will work on all of your weapons, including the newly released BP50 and RAM-9. It won’t be obtainable after the event ends, so make sure you play enough matches to get it if you like the look of it.

MW3 Year of the Dragon Event Schedule

The Year of the Dragon event is surprisingly short, only lasting for five days. The event runs from Friday, February 9, 2024, to Wednesday, February 14, 2024. That’s not a lot of time to earn all of the XP you’ll need to get all of the free rewards, so you’d better start grinding if you want that camo pattern.

The Horde Hunt event is also live now in Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone, and you can work on both events at the same time since the Year of the Dragon event only requires you to earn XP. Horde Hunt will last for much longer than Year of the Dragon, and more Featured Zombies will be added into the mix over the next few weeks.
