Remnant 2’s first DLC has introduced a new biome, new enemies, and of course, a new boss or two to fight. However, what we’re all really excited about are what weapons The Awakened King brings to Remnant 2.
The Awakened King weapons
We have seven new weapons to play with in Remnant 2. As with most of the others available in the game, they are inventive and unique in their own way. The developers always bring something new to the table, and this DLC is no different.
Monarch
This is my favorite of the new weapons introduced in The Awakened King DLC. Although at first glance, it may seem like an underpowered long weapon, once you take a peak under the hood, all becomes clear. You can check out our guide on how to get it here.
The Monarch comes with a harpoon secondary that, when shot into an enemy, will cause all further bullets to be tracked. This is where the gun really shines. The bullets will do whatever they can to get to their target, including passing through other targets. This means you can hit multiple enemies at once.
Sparkfire Shotgun
This is the second of the long gun weapons introduced with the new Awakened King DLC. It can be selected as the starting weapon for the Ritualist, which is the new Remnant 2 class. However, it can also be found in the Lighthouse, which is a location found on the new map.
The shotgun can carry up to seven shots, and each of them is able to inflict burning damage. This makes it the ideal weapon for anyone planning a status effect build. The damage output makes it a formidable weapon. However, the slow, one shot at a time, reload can feel pretty time-consuming.
Ritualist Scythe
This is the starting melee weapon of the new DLC’s class, the Ritualist. It can also be collected by obtaining both the Ritualist Hilt and Ritualist Blade by defeating the bosses at the Befouled Altars. These are areas that will spawn in the Forgotten Commune area of The Awakened King. Combine the two sides by interacting with them and inspecting the base and hilt.
The Ritualist Scythe works well with the Sparkfire shotgun. The Scythe performs 10% better when it is used against an enemy already suffering from a status effect. This is another one of the weapons for the status effect builds available in The Awakened King.
Anguish
Getting your hands on the Anguish handgun in Remnant 2 is no easy task, but we have a guide on it nonetheless. It is a hard gun to find but well worth the effort. It is one of the more powerful weapons in The Awakened King if you’re willing to go out and get it.
The shotgun sets itself apart by being, first of all, a handheld shotgun, and second, by its mod. The mod rapidly shoots needles of molten slag at the enemy. Each of these then explodes after 1.5 seconds, dealing further damage. The shotgun also has the option to change a shot, delivering one solid bolt rather than 5 shots. However, this damages the user.
Wrathbringer
This is one of two possible weapons obtainable after killing the boss of The Awakened King. You will have to defeat the One True King after first destroying his hammer and before it summons a new one. The parameters are small, but the rewards are worth it.
The Wrathbringer deals more damage, up to a total of 50%, depending on how much damage you have taken. It already has a pretty impressive base damage of 101, so the extra stacks make it devastating.
Abyssal Hook
This is one of the earlier weapons you can get your hands on in Remnant 2’s The Awakened King DLC. Provided you have managed to roll the new level, it can be found in a Manticore Lair on the Forlorn Coast.
The Abyssal Hook is a master of stagger damage. It comes with an impressive 80% damage, but with its added mod, it becomes even higher. Fathomless Deep creates 10% extra stagger damage for 5 seconds, stacking up to three attacks. This means it is the perfect stun-lock secondary weapon.
Steel Sythe
Put up against all the other new weapons available in the Remnant 2 DLC, this one kind of pales. However, you can easily pick up this melee weapon from Barabus for only 500 scrap. It doesn’t do a lot, but does have an empty mod slot.
For all things Remnant 2, check out PC Invasion.
