Fortnite’s Chapter 5, Season 1 introduces weapon modding to the game. Gun customization is a new feature and may be the deciding factor in end-game battles.
If you want to stay ahead of the competition, let me show you all Weapon Mod Bench locations in Fortnite.
How do Weapon Mods work in Fortnite?
Weapon Mods allow you to change specific parts of your weapons. You may have noticed that guns have different attachments listed when you pick them up. The higher the rarity, the more attachments they come with.

You can mod weapons in Fortnite at Weapon Mod Benches. These stations are typically found in Vaults near boss spawn locations and require a Medallion for access.
You can find these Vaults at the following POIs:
- Lavish Lair
- Fencing Fields
- Grand Glacier
- Reckless Railways
- Snooty Steppes
If you’re not confident in storming vaults at the start of a mission, you can still use the Weapon Mod Benches if someone has opened the door beforehand. I’ve also discovered Mod Benches in smaller guarded areas, like the one in Rebel Roost, although it’s not a guaranteed spawn.
How to mod guns in Fortnite
Modding may initially seem a little overwhelming, but you’ll quickly get the hang of it. All you need to use a Weapon Mod Bench is a gun and some Gold. Ensure you have the weapon you want to mod in your hands, then interact with the Weapon Mod Bench.
You’ll see a screen like mine above. You can scroll through attachment types, like Optics and Magazines, and then select a different one from the options underneath. Attachments cost Gold, and it’s pretty expensive to deck out your weapons with four shiny new parts, so use this feature sparingly. Mods are a great way to spice up your loadout, although some choices are better than others. Things like a Red Eye Sight on a Shotgun may sound awesome, but it’s a waste of Gold as the gun is close-range. I recommend experimenting and finding the combination that works for you.
