The Day Before is a title that has had controversy looming around it ever since the first trailer was released. The game is set to release on December 7, despite it all. But most players will need to know if they can run the game before diving in.
The Day Before: Minimum, Recommended PC System Requirements
It can be a bit of a struggle to run certain PC games in 2023, especially with the high-demand graphics we’ve seen in titles such as Star Citizen, Starfield, and The Last of Us Remastered.
The Day Before, which is a mashup of Escape From Tarkov and DayZ, has gained an ample amount of positive and negative news in the leadup to the game’s release, but we’re all just as interested in seeing the final product.
However, beforehand, it’s good to know what kind of specs your PC is going to need to run the game on the minimum and recommend settings, and thanks to the Steam listing, we can post these below.
Minimum
- Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD equivalent
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD equivalent
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 55 GB available space

Recommended
- Processor: Intel Core i7-8700 (3.2Ghz) or AMD equivalent
- Memory: 16 GB RAM
- Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 1080 Ti or AMD equivalent
- DirectX: Version 12
- Network: Broadband Internet connection
- Storage: 55 GB available space
The recommended settings are what stand out to us the most, as a 1080Ti is relatively old compared to a 3060Ti, so most modern GPUs should be able to run the game fine.
However, it’ll mainly come down to whether or not the game is optimized for current-day PCs or not, but we’ll have to wait and see.
