The weapons present in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2 are the perfect tools for killing your foes. To be successful in battle, however, you need to know exactly which weapons are for you. Here are all the weapons in Space Marine 2, ranked.

Best Guns in Space Marine 2, ranked
The primary and secondary weapons in Space Marine 2 are mostly the first resort in combat. Whether you’re smiting your foes from afar with precision weaponry or pumping them full of rounds up close, you’ll need the best kit on you.
S Tier
These following weapons are monsters when used accordingly. They deal huge amounts of damage in their respective fields and are not to be taken lightly.
- Heavy Bolter
- Melta Rifle
- Plasma Incinerator
- Las Fusil
- Multi-Melta
Although the Plasma Incinerator isn’t a heavy or special gun like the others, it’s an extremely reliable, powerful, and versatile gun that will allow you to hold your ground in Operations and hound your opponents in multiplayer.
A Tier
These Space Marine 2 weapons are good, reliable, and can be devastating in the right hands. They may lack some versatility or power, but they make up for it in other aspects.
- Heavy Bolt Rifle
- Heavy Plasma Incinerator
- Bolt Sniper Rifle
- Plasma Pistol
Headshots with the Bolt Sniper Rifle can deal significant damage and anyone with a heavy Plasma Incinerator can pin down enemies and fire over cover. In a pickle, the Plasma Pistol remains a formidable defense that will leave marks on your enemies.
B Tier
I’m sorry bolters, but you simply don’t stand up against your cousins. Although these Bolt guns are rather varied and different, ultimately, they just aren’t as powerful or useful (in a PvP sense mostly, they’re just fine in PvE).
- Stalker Bolt Rifle
- Bolt Rifle
- Auto Bolt Rifle
- Heavy Bolt Pistol
- Occulus Bolt Carbine
The bolters can sometimes feel like slightly modified versions of each other. Although that’s technically the case, the slight stat differences between them mean none of them are much more impressive than the other.
C Tier
Here lies the lowly Bolt guns that really don’t make the cut. These weapons have very little competitive edge in multiplayer and aren’t first picks in Operations, either.
- Bolt Carbine
- Instigator Bolt Carbine
- Bolt Pistol
The Bolt Carbine just does too little damage and burns through ammo like no one’s business. And all the Instigator Bolt Carbine really does is make it a burst rifle. And need I justify the poor Bolt Pistol?
Best Melee Weapons in Space Marine 2, ranked
The melee weapons in Space Marine 2 are all surprisingly viable in different combat niches. It’s hard to say that one of these weapons is objectively bad, for I can then think of many situations in which I may desire them. However, ultimately, some are generally more useful than others.
S Tier
Naturally, the Thunder Hammer takes the top spot.
- Thunder Hammer
The pure power and magnitude of the Thunder Hammer make it a first pick in Operations most of the time and make it a force to be reckoned with in multiplayer. You do not want to be up against an Assault Astartes wielding one of these.
A Tier
These two weapons are pretty damn good. They are reliable and have interesting and dynamic combos for flexible fighting, both in PvE and PVP.
- Chainsword
- Power Sword
The Chainsword is great as it deals high damage against single targets but has combo moves that allow for crowd control. Also, the Power Sword can switch between power and fast mode, allowing for versatility in the heat of combat. They’re also both pretty strong.
B Tier
The Power Fist is an odd case, as although I personally enjoy using the Power Fist and it’s certainly a viable weapon, I feel as though it gets out-ranked in the later versions of the weapon by the higher melee weapons.
- Power Fist
It’s amazing in Operations and is a strong contender in multiplayer, but I can’t see many skilled players opting for it.
C Tier
The poor Combat Knife takes the bottom spot, as although it’s incredibly swift and there is a time and place for it, ultimately, it gets out-matched by the others almost every time.
- Combat Knife
Even Relic level Combat Knives are only really okay when compared to the staggering Relic level versions of other melee weapons. They’re quick, but that’s not all that matters in a PvP setting. The Combat Knife also only performs moderately against NPC enemies, too.
Now that you know all about how each weapon compares to each other in Warhammer 40K: Space Marine 2, you can kit out your class in confidence. Before you engage with the enemy, however, make sure your graphics settings are up to scratch.
