Using mounts is a great way to explore the open world of Pandora, and it allows you to not rely on fast travel so much. Let’s go over all the mounts you can get.

Avatar Frontiers of Pandora: All mounts and how to get them

Although you start the game traveling solely on foot, you can eventually unlock two mounts. One is a flying mount, and the other is a ground mount. Let me explain all the mounts in Avatar Frontiers of Pandora and how you can get them for yourself.

How to get the Ikran mount

The first mount you’ll unlock is the Ikran mount. This large, flying bird is probably familiar to you if you’re a fan of the Avatar movies. By progressing the main story (to the “Take Flight” quest), you’ll eventually unlock an Ikran of your own. You’ll need to go through a trial that can prove your worth to an Ikran, allowing you to bond with them.

Once you finally bond with an Ikran, you can name them and design how they look. There are even different types of Ikran gear you can find throughout Pandora. Hold the “H” key to summon your Ikran, then take to the skies.

Your Ikran has an energy meter that will start to dwindle as you press the Space bar for faster flying. Make sure to feed your Ikran when their energy meter gets too low.

How to get the Direhorse mount

In opposition to the Ikran bird, the Direhorse is a ground mount you can also unlock by progressing the main quest. Once you reach the Upper Plains region, you’ll learn how to tame a Direhorse at “The Wandering Clan” quest.

While your Ikran always stays the same, the bond with a Direhorse is different. It’s a lot more temporary, and you’ll need to find a new Direhorse and soothe it each time you want to ride one.

You can keep them around for a bit, but they won’t stay with you forever. The good news is that you can find plenty of Direhorses throughout the Upper Plains. Use your Na’vi vision and your Hunter’s Guide to track Direhorse if you need one.
