New in MW3 is aftermarket parts for certain weapons, and essentially, these are going to be additional ways for players to improve their gun or completely change them up.
We will break down all of them in MW3, along with the challenges needed to unlock them.
Modern Warfare 3: All Aftermarket Parts
These parts let players tweak their weapons to their playstyle. Some of these parts are going to switch the entire round the weapon uses, such as the case with the Jak Raven Kit for the MCW, while others are just going to change aspects, such as the weapon barrel.
Regarding all of the current aftermarket parts that will be in Modern Warfare 3 until Season 1, the new Infinity Ward blog has shed some light on this.
- JAK Raven Kit (MCW – AR)
- Converts the weapon to a .300 chamber, enabling more damage all in all.
- JAK Heretic Carbine Kit (MTZ-762 – BR)
- Overall, improves the caliber of the MTZ, by providing more damage and less recoil
- Broodmother .45 Kit (WSP-9 – SMG)
- Allows the weapon to use .45 rounds, which are drastically more robust than the stock ones.
- JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit (Pulemyot 762 – LMG)
- This will further increase the damage of the weapon, alongside the movement capability of the player.
- XRK IP-V2 Conversion Barrel (COR-45 – Handgun)
- Players will be able to equip attachments such as scopes and under barrel ones with this kit
- JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit (Renetti – Handgun)
- Makes the Renetti into an SMG with this conversion kit, increasing the fire speed, along with the overall damage.
While there are only six at launch, we can assume more are going to be released in the near future, and we will probably see ones for nearly every Modern Warfare 3 weapon and maybe some of the returning ones from MW2.

Modern Warfare 3: How To Unlock Aftermarket Parts
This is where it gets a bit tricky, and we’ll have to speculate for the time being on most of these. At the time of writing, there are only some that players will be able to unlock during the pre-season of MW3, but Infinity Ward has noted that they’re going to add more as the weeks go on.
- JAK Ferocity Carbine Kit (Renetti – Handgun)
- Unlocked by getting 30 kills with five attachments
- JAK Annihilator Bullpup Kit (Pulemyot 762 – LMG)
- Unlocked by getting 25 kills while hip-firing or in tac-stance
While we await for other challenges to be announced, we can assume they will be along the lines of so many kills while either prone or with certain scopes and whatnot.
Furthermore, if you don’t complete this in time for Season 1 of MW3, they will just get moved to the armory, so do not fear if you miss one or two throughout the weeks. So, we’ll be sure to keep this post updated throughout the initial stages of MW3, as with each week, we’re going to get a new challenge to unlock these aftermarket parts.
