All 2 Mithral Ore & 6 Adamantine Forge Mould locations in Baldur’s Gate 3

Getting some ore and Moulds.

After traversing the Underdark in Baldur’s Gate 3, you’ll enter the Grymdark and be able to access the Adamantine Forge in the south of this region. To use the Forge, you need Adamantine Forge Moulds and Mithral Ore. Here is where to find all six Moulds and the two Mithral Ore in Baldur’s Gate 3.

All Mithral Ore locations in BG3

There are only two locations for Mithral Ore in Baldur’s Gate 3. They’re also conveniently both located within the area surrounding the device you will use to make items with the ore (make sure you know the best Adamantine Forge items before you make anything).

Before we get into finding the Mithral Ore, let’s develop a reference point for the locations we will discuss. We’re using the waypoint you find as you enter the Ancient Forge, with the same name, that you can see below for our starting point.

The first location you can find Mithral Ore is to the right of the Ancient Forge waypoint. Defeat the groups of enemies and Animated Armor and continue left and down. At the ground level, you need to jump across a lava river to get to the Mithral Ore. There are no enemies here, so whack the ore with a bludgeoning weapon, grab the Mithral Ore, and go toward the Adamantine Forge.

The second and final location for the Mithral Ore, as there are only two in the game, is back near the waypoint and on the way to the forge itself. As you head down the stairs in front of the waypoint, if you look to the left, you should be able to see a Mithral Ore in the distance. When you jump down the stairs, head to the left and defeat the Fire Mephits that spawn as you begin to walk over there, and then destroy the Mithral Ore and claim it.

Once you walk toward the Mithral Ore on the other side, a bunch of Fire Mephits will spawn in. I recommend using ice spells like Ice Knife to eliminate them all quickly. With the Fire Mephits defeated, walk across and melee the Mithral Ore. It’ll eventually break and you’ll need to grab the Mithral inside.

All Adamantine Forge Mould locations in BG3

There are six Moulds and they are all found in Grymdark. You can find them all as you make your way toward the Adamantine Forge if you explore thoroughly enough. Here’s a map to help you find every Mould easily.

The Longsword Mould is on the catwalk that you need to take to get to the Ancient Forge. The Shield Mould is found on the ground in a big room behind a big locked door. It’s found on the second level and you’ll need the catwalk to access it.

You can access the catwalk in a number of ways like flying up to it or using Enhanced Jump. You can also use a bomb on the wall in the northwest to climb the stairs and get to the catwalk (watch out for the traps along the way).

The Scimitar Mould is found near the levels for the second catwalk section. The Mace Mould, Scale Mail Mould, and Splint Mould are all found near the Ancient Forge waypoint on tables and on the ground. Look for the iPad-looking slates — those are the Moulds.

Now that you have the six Moulds and the two Mithral, you can make two of the best items in the game, but you’ll need to choose wisely since you came only make two items. Also, you need to beat Grym first and know how to actually use the Forge.
