This medieval strategy city builder is releasing in Early Access on April 26, but since it’s not a full release we won’t receive 100% of the planned content. Here’s all the content available for Manor Lords in Early Access and what you can look forward to.
Manor Lords: All Early Access content available
In a recent F.A.Q. post on the Manor Lords subreddit, fans got the chance to have their questions answered. One of these questions had to do with all the content available in the Early Access version, so what can you look forward to in Manor Lords on launch? Slavic Magic promises dense city-building, army management, claims to lay, a single map, and a few scenarios.
City-building
From your Early Access version of Manor Lords, you’ll be able to transform your region from a small village to a large town. This includes industries, development branches, and manor upgrades.
Currently, you’ll only be able to build up to Tier 3 housing, but you can set up specialized artisans and industries across your multiple regions.
Army management/battles
With any game that allows for large tactical battles, you’ll get the chance to draft your villagers into militias, as well as hire mercenaries and retinues. They can fight bandits or rival lords for you if they decide to attempt an invasion.
You can command these real-time tactical battles and manage how they’ll act based on weather conditions, fatigue, and equipment. No matter if you win or lose battles there will be deaths within your army.
Claims
As you expand your regions, you’ll be able to lay claims on neighboring lands by earning influence. This requires you to fight an enemy lord and defeat them. This will then allow you to take control of this land, expanding your influence and power even further.
Maps
Upon launch, you’ll only get access to one map, but Slavic Magic plans to add more in the future. The region you start in and your nearby resources are entirely randomized, allowing for some replayability.
Scenarios
Scenarios are like difficulty options. You can choose to run a standard scenario, an extremely difficult scenario, or even a peaceful scenario.
While the hard scenario would test your strategy in battles, the peaceful scenario is for players who would rather focus on the city-building aspects of Manor Lords.
Although there’s no immediate roadmap available for this game, another Early Access title called No Rest for the Wicked has a roadmap available.
