Finding audio recordings in Fortnite OG

Players in Fortnite OG can find audio recordings left by Dr. Slone alongside what seems to be the tattered time machine we saw in Chapter 4 season 4. Playing the recording reveals some interesting lore on what’s happening on the Island in the aftermath of the time travel hijinks that ended the last season, so you don’t want to miss these.

If you’ve looked far and wide for the recordings but aren’t sure where they are, don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Here’s where you can find all the audio recordings in Fortnite OG. Keep in mind that we’ll update this list as successive audio recorders appear on the map.

Week 1 – Pleasant Park

There are a total of four audio recordings to be found, and each one will appear in a different location every week until Fortnite OG ends. Here’s a look at where you can find the first one.

It’s available to grab in plain sight at Pleasant Park. It’s not often you see Pleasant Park with a huge number of players this season, so you should be good to go. When you reach the soccer field in the southern part of Pleasant Park, you’ll see many crates and construction materials occupying the back of a parked truck. Check out the rear left wheels of the truck, and you’ll see a recorder next to them waiting for you.

What do Dr. Slone’s recordings mean?

The whole narrative is shrouded in mystery but there are some things we can piece together from a few seconds of dialogue. First, it confirms that the “once bad now turned good” Dr. Slone and her crew were successful in transporting Jones to the past. Jones and the time machine have been brought to 2018, while Dr. Slone is relaying messages to him from 2023 to ensure Jones doesn’t lose sight of their objective. Slone is relying on Jones to complete what he set out for by telling him that he knows what to do and further stressing that “it has to be done”.

What has to be done, however, is anyone’s guess. It will certainly come into play in Fortnite OG’s end-season event though so we won’t have to wait long to see what Jones is up to. Personally, I’m banking on seeing the return of the OG Seven. I think Jones’ sole reason for being here is to recruit the Seven and convince them to come back to the present. It makes sense as they are the only valuable people worth coming here for, and would dramatically tip the odds in Slone’s favor for whatever they’re up against next season.
