How to find all Buddha Eyeballs in Black Myth Wukong
Before we get into the purpose of the Buddha’s Eyeballs, let’s walk through how to find them all. There are six stone statue heads to find, each with one Buddha Eyeball. Below are the locations of all the statue heads. Since Black Myth Wukong doesn’t have a map, this guide will describe each statue’s location in proximity to a Keeper Shrine.
Buddha’s Eyeball location #1
The first Buddha Eyeball is found immediately upon entering the Fright Cliff region. The stone statue head is on the main path and pretty hard to miss, but if you did miss it, just know that it is directly south of the Squall Hideout Keeper Shrine.
Buddha’s Eyeball location #2
Northeast of the Squall Hideout Keeper Shrine, you will find a wooden structure with a staircase. Climb to the top of this structure to find another stone statue with a Buddha’s Eyeball. Be careful since there are a handful of enemies that will shoot projectiles toward you as you make your way to the top.
Buddha’s Eyeball location #3
From where you found the previous Buddha’s Eyeball on the wooden structure, progress backward down the stairs (where the treasure chest is). Take a right to find a pathway leading over the ravine. Take this pathway and continue straight up a small rock staircase to find the stone head up against the rocky wall.
Buddha’s Eyeball location #4
A fourth head statue can be found in the cave to the left of the Squall Hideout Keeper Shrine. After entering the cave, keep heading straight until you reach a pathway on the left-hand side. Take the pathway up to find a stone altar, where a stone head is lying on the ground with a Buddha’s Eyeball.
Buddha’s Eyeball location #5
The fifth Buddha’s Eyeball is easily found near the Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine. Take a left from the shrine and hug the mountainside to find the stone head lying on the ground. It’s about 20 feet from the shrine, not far at all.
Buddha’s Eyeball location #6
The sixth and final Buddha’s Eyeball can be found within the cave. From Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine, return to the cave and upon entering, immediately take a right to find a pathway leading upward. Continue forward until you reach the area with the Mother of Stones boss (if you haven’t beaten her already). On the right-hand side, you will find an opening with a ledge overlooking the mountain. The stone head is outside on the ledge.
What are the Buddha’s Eyeballs used for in Black Myth Wukong?
Once you collect all six Buddha’s Eyeballs, you can unlock a secret boss in the Fright Cliff region. But first, you must defeat the Stone Vanguard main boss. Stone Vanguard can be found in an open area to the left of Rockrest Flat Keeper’s Shrine.
After defeating Stone Vanguard, rest at a shrine and return to the same area to find a large blackish boulder sticking out of the ground. Interact with the large boulder to deliver the Buddha’s Eyeballs, activating a secret boss fight against Shigandang.
Shigandang isn’t a very difficult boss fight but is still definitely worth your time since beating him earns you valuable rewards.
How to beat Shigandang
Shigandang is similar to Stone Vanguard, except his punches move a bit quicker and his shockwaves are larger. The best way to beat Shigandang is to stay behind him to avoid his punches and use perfect dodge on the shockwaves he sends through the ground. You will know he’s about to execute a shockwave when his fists and the ground begin to turn yellowish-orange colored. When you notice this, wait a couple of seconds and then dodge.
Once you understand his moveset and focus on staying behind him, Shigandang is not very difficult. I recommend using Immobilize and Cloud Step, and other amazing early skills, towards the end of the fight, so you don’t run out of Mana early on.
Shigandang rewards
After defeating Shigandang, you’ll be rewarded with Mind Core and Heart of Stone crafting materials. You will also be rewarded with the Skandha of Feeling key item.
Mind Core can be used to craft Celestial Medicines and Heart of Stone can be used to craft the Cloud-Patterned Stone Staff, which has incredible Attack and Defense stats. We are not quite sure what the Skhanda of Feeling item is used for, but rest assured that we are currently looking into it.
