All Ascender locations in all Modern Warfare 3 (MW3) Open Combat Missions

One of the newest additions in Modern Warfare 3’s gameplay is the inclusion of open-world maps.

They’re not open-world like in games such as Grand Theft Auto, it’s just open spaces that allow you to find new weapons and gear. In these open-world segments, you can find ascenders that help you get around better. This guide will show you all the ascender locations in the open combat missions for Modern Warfare 3 (MW3). So have this guide by your side while playing. 

Modern Warfare 3 (MW3): All Ascender locations in the open combat missions

While most of Modern Warfare 3’s story is linear, minus the few light puzzles such as the bomb timer in Countdown, the open-combat missions offer something different. You can play in diverse ways such as going quiet or going loud. It helps with the replayability of a short campaign. Below, I’ll pinpoint each open-combat that has the ascender. So you can find them quickly.

Precious Cargo

Located on the northwestern side of the map near a weapons drop. There also should be a place to use the ascender nearby.

Reactor

From where you drop in, head to the back of the map but on the north side. Search the corners of the building in this area and you can find the tool. Consider finding all the weapons and gear on this map. To me, it was one of the tougher ones.

Crash Site

As soon as you get rid of the soldiers at the start of the map, follow the road and go right. There should be a shack with the ascender in it there. 

Oligrarch

Finding this ascender is easy. At the start of the mission swim left towards the beach. When you reach this spot, there’s going to be a cave to enter. Follow the route along and the ascender should be on the ground. 

Highrise

This open-combat mission is different than the rest. Rather than going far and wide, you’ll be going up and down. To find the ascender, head to the 11th floor. In the southmost hallway on this floor, you should find the item’s location. 

Gora Dam

Sneak your way to the southeast part of the map. Along the way, you’ll find a weapon drop. From that point keep going south, then you should find the ascender.
