Alienware reveal mini gaming-PC, looks like a console

This article is over 12 years old and may contain outdated information

PC gaming computer manufacturer extraordinaire Alienware has revealed a new system that looks a lot like a console and is designed to sit under your tellybox.
The X51 is roughly the same size as an Xbox 360, and is not a million miles away in terms of aesthetic either. However, it’s a good deal more powerful – packing your choice of either an Intel Core i3, i5 or i7 processor and a Nvidia GeForce GT 545 or GTX 555 graphics card.
4GB, 6GB or 8GB of RAM are available, while a 1TB HDD, 7.1 audio and wireless a/b/g/n LAN are included in all models – as are HDMI, TOSLINK and coax digital outputs and six USB ports. Prices start at £699.
Like a console, the PC can either be placed horizontally or vertically.
The £699 package is apparently able to play Battlefield 3 at 1080p with hig-res textures, 4x aniostopic filtering and medium anti-aliasing at roughly 30fps. Which, for the price, is not bad going.
