Aion community rep Tamat has announced that double XP weekends will be implemented over the next three weeks.

The bonus XP is to help remedy the situation that players have been complaining about for some time; that levelling is too slow and that quests don’t reward enough XP for the effort they require. The double XP weekends are a temporary measure, explained Tamat, until a more permanent solution is introduced, and will affect level 1-35 characters.

“To aid you in your travels we will be implementing double experience weekends over the next three weeks,” said Tamat.”These bonus weekends will affect characters levels 1–35. This includes crafting and gathering experience as well. After the upcoming three weekends, we plan on hosting bonus experience weekends once or twice a month. We want to make it easier for you to experience what Aion has to offer for your characters after level 35.”

Another couple of permanent changes to appear this weekend are a reduction to the cost at the soul healer, and an increase to the XP bonus of Energy Repose for levels 20-44.

“While the above is an interim solution, we will be addressing the character progression experience curve with a sizeable patch next year.”

Look out for our second Aion review later today, which covers level 20-30.
