Publisher Focus Entertainment and developer Asobo Studio hosted the Focus Showcase earlier today, and it came with some juicy new details. A Plague Tale: Requiem, the sequel to the well-received A Plague Tale: Innocence, now has a release date of October 18. The game will also be available on PC Game Pass. Beyond that, A Plague Tale: Requiem will also get NVIDIA DLSS and ray tracing.
The announcement of A Plague Tale: Requiem’s release date came along with a new extended look at gameplay. In the trailer, siblings Amicia and Hugo de Rune become overwhelmed by enemy soldiers, but they use some clever tricks to gain the upper hand. We also got a look at the Collector’s Edition of the game, which comes with an impressively detailed statue of the siblings preparing for combat. The Collector’s Edition also includes a vinyl with two tracks, Hugo’s feather brooch, and three lithographs.
The rats will look better than ever
The Plague Tale series centers around the dark and supernatural journey of Amicia and Hugo as they struggle to survive through the conflicts and rat-infested plague of medieval France. A Plague Tale: Requiem looks to be building on the original game by giving both characters new skills and new locations to visit. The official description reads, “After escaping their devastated homeland, Amicia and Hugo travel far south, to new regions and vibrant cities. There, they attempt to start a new life and control Hugo’s curse.”
PC players will be pleased to know that the teams behind the game are working with NVIDIA to ensure that A Plague Tale: Requiem will feature ray tracing and NVIDIA DLSS. For those who are unaware, DLSS is an AI-powered tool that boosts the performance of various PC games without comprising image quality.
A Plague Tale: Requiem will release on PC and PC Game Pass on October 18.
