A Game of Thrones: Genesis generates some new images

This article is over 13 years old and may contain outdated information

New images of Cyanide’s videogame interpretation of George RR Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series have arrived by raven.
It’s been a surprisingly bountiful year for fans of the fantasy epic. HBO have been airing the first book (A Game of Thrones) in visual form, the next book in the series has a July release date after being AWOL for about six years and Cyanide are working on a game entitled A Game of Thrones: Genesis.
More images of that latter project are below, and clearly show the game shaping up as a real-time strategy affair; although one complete with the exciting prospect of assassinations, political dealings, deception and backstabbing. An official website has been launched for the title too, which has more details and offers a brief guide to the different Houses of Westeros (bad news if you like House Greyjoy, they don’t seem to be appearing in this game).
Cyanide seem to be taking a historical approach to the series, as the site states “From Nymeria’s arrival in the Kingdom of Dorne to the awakening of the “Others” beyond the Wall, you’ll live the origins of the A Song of Ice and Fire saga through more than 1000 years of history.” This suggests the game will be jumping around in time, allowing you to take command of various famous characters from the series.
A Game of Thrones: Genesis is coming to the PC, but doesn’t yet have a release date (fans of the books will be all too familiar with this).
