Blizzard Entertainment’s anticipated RTS sequel StarCraft II will be available for beta testing this summer.
During the Activision Blizzard earnings report press call, Mike Morhaime, Blizzard Entertainment president, confirmed “this summer we will [start] beta testing, this phase will signal the final stretch of development.”The changes we have seen to Blizzard’s gaming platform Battle.net, and more recently the beta opt-ins are both in preparation for the beta.
“We’ll begin external testing of our new Battle.net including some features that are designed to connect all future Blizzard games,” said Morhaime.
Currently, players can register CD-keys on their Battle.net accounts, and thereafter download their game whenever and wherever they choose. New related features are expected.
