Rocket Ranger Reloaded successfully funded, due 2015

Cinemaware’s Kickstarter for Rocket Ranger Reloaded has narrowly squeaked past the finish line.

The remake of the Nazi-punching, rocket-flying action game was looking for $89,999, and the Kickstarter closed with $90,715, meaning the Kickstarter closed $716 above the target. Eek.

That means the initial wave of funding has closed, but it doesn’t mean that’s all the money the game is getting. Cinemaware are still accepting PayPal donations, so stretch goals – offering more locations, more action sequences, a research lab, more language localisations, voiceovers, console versions, and more – are still possible.

Rocket Ranger Reloaded puts you in the role of a rocket pack-equipped soldier in a version of World War 2 where the Nazis have strange, futuristic technology. Fortunately, you yourself have access to technology sent back in time from a future where Nazis rule the globe, meaning you’re the only one who can put a stop to their machinations. You have to track down their bases, dispatch secret agents, fly through the sky, assault their facilities, and make sure that the dark future doesn’t come to pass.

Rocket Ranger Reloaded is due in September 2015, although Kickstarter being Kickstarter, that’s subject to change based on how much additional funding is acquired.
