PES 2015 licenses 21 Brazilian clubs

This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information

Konami has just announced that PES 2015 will feature 21 officially licensed teams from the Brazilian domestic leagues. I’d imagine this reveal took place at the Moscow-based IgroMir event, since that’s where Konami happens to be at present, but I just learned about it through the combined magic powers of twitter and reading.

Here’s Konami’s confirmation tweet:

I’m not completely up on all my Brazilian club team badges, but I spot good old Gremio on there, plus Flamengo, Santos and some of the other major names.

Update: There’s now a full list on Konami’s site. It’s every team from Serie A and Vasco Da Gama from Serie B. PES 2015 will have the correct player names from the following Brazilian teams:

  • Corinthians
  • Cruzeiro
  • Palmeiras
  • Figeurense

PES 2015 getting hold of the domestic license for Brazil probably shouldn’t be a huge surprise. This year’s version of FIFA is missing the Brazilian league, after failing to agree terms on the rights and licensing. Looks like PES swooped in and did a deal.

The PC version of PES 2015 is getting some rather unusual treatment this year. It’s apparently going to be a “hybrid” version, with all the gameplay features of the PS4/Xbox One releases, but for some reason lacking some of the graphical fidelity of the PS4 version. Konami also snubbed our platform when releasing the September demo, so I have no idea how good the game is this year and can’t really find out unless I borrow a console.

I’m very open to giving PES a chance (the more decent football games the merrier,) but the publisher isn’t making it easy for PC players.
