Listen Activision, I’m impressed you commissioned Platinum to make a downloadable Legend of Korra game, but where are the screenshots with Pabu in them? It’s no good just sending out images of some Pro Bending mode that’s in the game. The people demand adorable fire ferrets.
Oh well. I’m sure the flood of Pabu shots are coming later.
As mentioned, these are mostly Pro Bending focused (though there are also a couple of Korra beating some people up with her neato bending powers.) If you saw the first season of the Legend of Korra show you’ll know what Pro Bending is, because it took up a hefty chunk of the storyline. Basically, it’s two teams of three elemental benders facing off on a floating platform.
Apparently, a spot of Pro Bending will take place during the main story of the Legend of Korra title and will become playable as a stand-alone thing once you’ve completed the game.
Mostly, though, I think it’ll be Platinum-style third person combat antics. Hopefully it’s channeling a bit of Bayonetta in that regard. That may be overly optimistic for what appears to be a smaller, downloadable title though.
The events of the game will fill in some blanks between seasons two and three of the show, and will be written by Tim Hendrick. He wrote “The Ember Island Players” episode for the original Avatar: The Last Airbender (among others,) so that bodes fairly well.
The Legend of Korra will be available through Steam on 22 October. Here are the Pabu-less shots.
