Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom has been announced, aaaand it looks quite a lot like old-school Zelda games.
This Adventure Time title is being developed by WayForward, who also developed the previous two (slightly rubbish) Adventure Time games. I’m a bit confused about WayForward, insofar as they’re one of those studios who can make either stunning, utterly superb, totally mathematical games (the Shantae series) or rather rubbish tie-in games that have poobrain (far too many to mention). So, uh… I have absolutely no predictions on how this’ll turn out, but I’d like to think it’ll be good.
Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom has you take control of both Finn and Jake as you wander a previously unexplored region of the Land of Ooo. It’s a top-down affair with a mix between action-adventure monster-bashing, and puzzle-solving, all of which sounds pretty Zelda. It looks quite a lot like classic Zelda, too! I’m going to remain cautiously optimistic until near release, at which point I will start to slide into cynicism and despair.
Adventure Time: The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom is due out on 21 November, and it’s being published by Little Orbit and distributed over in the England Kingdom by Bandai Namco Games Europe. The first screenies are below.
