Hatoful Boyfriend gets bird flu, delayed to September

Bad news, everyone: pigeon dating sim Hatoful Boyfriend has been delayed until September.

Devolver Digital have said that Mediatonic want to spend a little more time polishing the game before it hatches, so – alas – there will be no Hatoful Boyfriend until 4 September. The game was originally scheduled to launch on 21 August, if memory serves, so that’s a two-week delay.

Hopefully this news hasn’t ruffled your feathers too much, and I daresay it’ll all be worth it should the game prove to be eggs-cellent. Hatoful Boyfriend casts you as the only human at an all-birds school as you aim not only for coexistence, but to find a feathered love of your own. It’s as touching and funny as it is bizarre, so I am all in favour of Mediatonic spending a couple more weeks making sure it’s good and incubated before releasing out into the world.

Hatoful Boyfriend is now due out on 4 September.
