Respawn has removed two modes from the Titanfall PC playlist and now Attrition and Hardpoint are all there is as other modes have “not been widely used”.
It’s a bold move by Respawn but it leaves PC gamers a little short of game modes in the playlists which is not exactly ideal for a PC shooter. According to Respawn PC players are “predominantly playing Attrition and Hardpoints game modes” and they want make sure “the experience of joining a match works well”.
Respawn has been watching closely to find out what’s proved popular and they say they are going to “continue” to watch for unpopular game modes and add new ones to the game to make up for the loss. Of course any new game mode could prove just as unpopular in Respawn’s opinion.
New game modes are apparently being worked on but Respawn are not ready to share any further details on exactly what they are just yet. They posted the following message this evening:
“We’re currently working on those new modes and updates and can’t wait to share the details with you. We will still rotate Pilot Hunter and CTF in for future playlists as well as adding new riffs on game types that Respawn is currently working on. Our goal is to have a wide variety of playlists that are popular and changing. That said, we will not remove modes from Private Matches, so there will always be the option to select them for competitive and personal play. Thanks for your understanding as we try to make Titanfall a better experience for everyone.”
If you were wondering what was happening then that pretty much sums it up for now. It’s a shame that modes are removed and it’s just one of the many joys of having to deal with a matchmaking system instead of server listings where you can pick and choose.
