World of Tanks update 9.0 has rolled out, bringing with it a number of oh-so-pretty visual upgrades as well as Historical Battles.

Update 9.0 – titled New Frontiers – starts off the game’s planned visual overhaul. This patch gives ten tanks high-definition models and textures, and adds in some new physics functions, like turrets being blown off when the ammo rack explodes. If you’re into gameplay tweaks, though, then… well, World of Tanks 9.0 also adds in Historical Battles.

Historical Battles, as you might expect, lets you try your hand at a number of World War 2 battles. You can hop into a historically outfitted vehicle and fight through Operation Spring Awakening, the Battle of Kursk, or the Ardennes Breakthrough.

The patch is now available worldwide. You can have a looksee at a trailer showing off the new pretties below.
